Crockery Township operates zoning and ordinance enforcement on a complaint driven basis. Our zoning enforcement officer works just a few hours a week as needed. Its is our hope that everyone in the Township will be courteous to their neighbors and attempt to resolve issues without the Township’s involvement. Ordinance enforcement can be a long and costly endeavor for the taxpayers and therefore each situation is handled on a case-by-case basis while looking out for the interests of all parties involved. Those parties would include the person making the complaint, the taxpaying property owner towards which the complaint is directed, and the Township taxpayers who will have to absorb the financial costs of zoning and ordinance enforcement. Any complaints or concerns about ordinance enforcement may be directed to the Township Board at public comment during a regularly scheduled board meeting.
Immediate issues effecting life, well being, and property may be directed to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s office through the 911 dispatch center. Other concerns can be addressed to the Township using the Complaint Form Online and will be investigated during normal business hours as time permits.
